Whyle: A Reimagined Approach To The Move-In Ready Extended Stay _ Morris Adjmi Architects

Washington D.C., USA _ Whyle: A Reimagined Approach To The Move-In Ready Extended Stay _ Morris Adjmi Architects

Located within a glass and steel structure designed by MA, 'Whyle' offers a reimagined approach to the extended stay.

Thoughtfully designed apartments are move-in ready with fully equipped kitchens, custom furnishings, handpicked artworks, vintage rugs, top-quality linens, and even living plants—everything needed to provide a home away from home for Whyle’s temporary residents.

Within each bespoke dwelling, textures and layers work in harmony to cultivate a feeling that everything has a place and that there is a place for everything.

Lofty one-bedroom apartments feature full-size kitchens designed for living, working, and entertaining in style.

From washers to wine glasses, the apartments are thoughtfully outfitted with everything needed to find a new daily routine.

The two-bedroom apartments offer even more space.

In addition to the thoughtful furnishings and premium touches found in every 'Whyle' unit, these apartments also include two full bathrooms—one en suite and one accessible from the open, airy common areas.

The units also provide more room to share with family or friends.

Floor-to-ceiling operable windows maximize natural light and air.

Careful attention was also paid to creating cool, dark, and quiet bedrooms—a place of rest and respite within the lively U Street Corridor neighborhood.

The 'Whyle' residents also have access to amenities such as a state-of-the-art fitness center and yoga studio featuring custom millwork, and a rooftop pool deck.

About Morris Adjmi Architects:

Morris Adjmi, FAIA established MA in 1997 following a 13-year collaboration with Pritzker Prize-winning architect Aldo Rossi. On that strong foundation, Morris built a design practice known for its thoughtful engagement with history, distinct interpretation of industrial forms, and creative expression of materials.

Each design decision is guided by a deep appreciation for and understanding of the integral architectural, artistic, cultural, civic, environmental, and economic forces that shape a project. This rigorous, research-based approach has helped to establish MA as a leader in the revitalization of post-industrial neighborhoods and historic districts with projects that are imbued with a distinct sense of place and purpose.

The firm strives to maintain a strong sense of community and culture by creating an enriching work environment complemented by engaging programming. We are dedicated to fostering a mentoring environment to facilitate professional growth and providing an atmosphere in which everyone can flourish.

"We create buildings that stand out by fitting in."
